[ELSUA ~ A KM Blog Thinking Outside The Inbox by Luis Suarez] E L S U A ~ A KM Blog Thinking Outside The Inbox by Luis Suarez ...: Top to bottom Knowledge Management: One of the recurring ideas behind the first two days of the KM training I attended had to do with embracing a more formal approach, top-to-bottom, regarding the adoption (Or push, I probably could say better) of Knowledge Management. Yes, indeed, traditional KM at its best, where everything around KM seems to delve around the subject of management using a top-down approach to push KM down to the practitioners through, of course, a whole bunch of complex processes that hardly anyone cares about, nor understands, or embraces.

[Knowledge Jolt with Jack (comment-extended feed)] My Media Sources - Knowledge Jolt with Jack: I certainly have a nice big pile of books I'd like to read with topics ranging from theory of constraints, a variety of fiction, parenting, knowledge management, and others. I've just finished a leadership book that I'll be reviewing shortly.

[Gurteen Knowledge] Gurteen Knowledge-Letter: Issue 85 - July 2007 (Gurteen Knowledge): If implementing KM as a strategic knowledge sharing initiative driven from the top of the company then I would totally agree with Bob. If the initiative is however being implemented in more of an operational sense at a lower level in the organization with very specific business objectives then I am more inclined to agree with James!

[Cognitive Edge] KM Forum event blog - Cognitive Edge: From this we look to the internal and external strategic knowledge gaps and how are these aligned with out knowledge and learning management initiatives. OK this is all good stuff, a bit motherhood and apple pie but no bad thing, sometimes people (especially KM people) get swept up in enthusiasm for the subject and forget it has to have a purpose.

[Notes on Productivity] Notes on Productivity - "Lotus Notes/Domino is a dead product": Then, I would assemble a focus group of 50% customers, 20% business partners, 10% Value-added resellers, 15% developers, and 5% well-known respected collaboration bloggers/analysts  to tackle the problem of how to position and communicate what Notes can do. (I would also hire away a handful of key Notes bloggers and evangelists from IBM and turn them loose on the web to do what they do so well.) I would give away the designer client to anyone that wanted it and get folks developing Notes/Domino/Web apps.

[Michael Sampson] Michael Sampson: Currents: Conference Notes: Forrester Research survey in October 2007 found that about 50% of its surveyed organizations thought that setting a collaboration strategy was a critical or high priority for 2008. And nearly 25% of organizations said that a "Web 2.0 technology"
