[SEC - Cover Story] Regulations: 'Golden' Rules or Ruling You? - Cover Story ...: While there have been physical security improvements covering security video, bollards and door/gate access control, the granddaddy of much federally-directed anti-terror regulations, the federal Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, got the identity ball rolling when the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) initiated a program for improving the identification and authentication of Federal employees and contractors for access to Federal facilities and information systems. [CIO Dashboard] Can a CIO be Successful Without IT Experience? ”” CIO Dashboard: It seems clear to me that the CIO absolutely must have a deep understanding of IT and all the issues involved (not just passing experience or a bit of management experience within an IT domain). Of course all CxOs (and the CIO is no exception) require significant business experience and savvy as well, and this is the reason there are perhaps less candidates for CIO from the world of IT than there are CFO’s from the world of finance (and thus why companies often compromise).

[The Housing Bubble Blog] The Housing Bubble Blog » Bits Bucket For October 5, 2009: In the most profound financial change in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning - along with China, Russia, Japan and France - to end dollar dealings for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.

[Whatanews4u.Sports] BBC - Betsan's Blog: En garde!: The Central Administration cost does include some £35M for running the Senedd building, this appears to be what you have quoted as the cost of the Assembly, but that figure does not include staffing or payments to AM's. [1. MajorityRights.com (main blog)] The Immigration Industry tacks into the wind: The great majority consist of often unsubstantiated pronouncements of the type ”˜”¦immigration brings cultural diversity which in turn results in economic benefits like blah blah blah”¦’, which reflects Legrain’s over-riding economic focus in 2006. We will pick up the diversity theme and its alleged benefits again later, however in terms of cultural benefits per se in even a peripheral sense, the only positive benefits that Legrain enumerates concern the London dance-club scene (p 118) and the multicultural nature of the present-day Arsenal football team (p 123), which Legrain claims to support.
