That might seem geeky or trivial, but it’s one of those niche single-purpose sites that can become an authoritative resource without any business plans, buzzwords or marketing budgets (which is what makes the web genuinely different). I’m surprised at the lack of relevant advertising and affiliate links for purchasing products though; I reckon they could make the site more useful and profitable without jeopardising impartiality.

http://quatrainman.blogspot.com [Quatrainman.blogspot.com] Clipboard Conversations and Other (A)Musings: The mode he talked about, "behavioural"advertising was dubbed by him as a 3rd method of web advertising. The first twopresumably being ads placed on "premium" locations on web pages (such as say, themain page of Rediff's portal, where almost everyone using Rediff services is sureto visit) and the other being ads generated based on the content of the page beingviewed (Google's AdSense works this way - if you glance up on this blog, the adsyou'll see there would be somewhat relevant to some key content on these pages). The former mode is essentially static, and works the same way as ads inserted innewspapers or featured on TV. It is generic, and aims to catch as many "eyeballs"as possible, and doesn't target specific individuals. The second is dynamicand probably works on the notion that if you visit a page containing the words"price" + "car" + "used", that you are looking to purchase old cars, and some s/wwill pick an ad from its pool to feature on that page.

Jeffooi.com[Jeffooi.com] Screenshots...: June 2004 Archives: Judging from the recent “shut-off” (disabled “comment”) and the relatively “lame” blogs, I kinda suspect you are being intimidated with lawsuits. I write to offer some help… What say you, lets create a mirror (or almost mirror) site for Screenshot, [ JEFF OOI: It's Screenshots! ] called it Screenshot 2 or whatever and the purpose is really for your fans to comment in the “Screenshot 2” instead of yours. You will openly accused this Screenshot 2 of stealing your blog’s content and announce you plan to start a litigation, keeping making noise from time to time so as to promote the “copied” blog and that way, your fans get to utter whatever they want, just like the same old way Screenshot was designed for and at the same time, you are not legally liable … Sound good?
