[E-Government News] The U.S. government’s struggles to coordinate relief efforts in the wake of last year’s Gulf Coast hurricanes have been well documented, but there is still no central capability to publicly report on all donations and aid activities in a way that allows for transparent views of the recovery progress. This impedes government accountability for any failures or shortfalls in managing the rebuilding process, and prevents participants that successfully complete projects from receiving due credit and praise.
