The citizens and businesses aspired for the availability of the telecommunications infrastructure and the electronic transactions-supporting environment. Oman welcomed the proposal of creating a Digital Solidarity Fund to provide technical and financial assistance towards national and regional capacity. Oman had addressed the issue of information and communication technologies with much attention, and its progress to date had been encouraging.

He instructed the Dubai e-Government to spread the knowledge of IT throughout the community and encourage people to make greater use of electronic services in all their government transactions.
