E-Business Library > Credit Where Skype Credit's Due
[loose wire] I feel I need to add a footnote to my outburst about the difficulties of buying Skype credits in far-flung countries which may not have great reputations for handling fraud but which do maintain impressively high international call charges. [Softtechvc.blogs.com] Software Only: Skype: New features but still quite a few issues ?: More problematic seems to be the chronic issue that Skype is having with SkypeOut and its credit card processing function. [Blog.softtechvc.com] Software Only: Communication: Funny that the very day Google launched their Jabber/XMPP-based Instant Messenger (the now famous Google Talk), Skype retaliated by releasing their own IM APIs, allowing web site developers to incorporate presence data, and 3rd party to develop their own Skype client. It is worth nothing though that these APIs only cover the (otherwise excellent) IM part of Skype, not the most popular service - voice calls.
[Karibu.blogspot.com] Karibu's Blog: One of the consequences of eBay acquiring Skype is that announcement made today by Yahoo! and Microsoft: the two instant messaging software operated by the two companies are going to be made inter-operable, meaning that a user of Yahoo Messenger will be able to "see" a MSN Messenger user and chat with him.
