OMB Issues FY 2006 E-Gov Reporting Guidelines

[E-Government News] Agencies now know what must be included in this year’s E-Government report.Last week, Office of Management and Budget Administrator Karen Evans issued a memorandum to all federal chief information officers explaining the parameters of the FY 2006 report. The E-Government Act of 2002 mandates the annual reporting.

[E-Government News] Foreign Diplomats Visit Information Network Village August 30th, 2006 By Bae Ji-sook Staff ReporterA group of 15 diplomats from 11 Asian countries posted in Seoul visited a village in Hwasong County, Kyonggi Province on Tuesday to personally observe an information network village, held up as a successful model for Korea’s informatization drive in agricultural and fisheries region. The Hwaseong village is among the 280 information network villages being run across the country since 2001 as the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs’ key project designed to narrow the digital divide between rural and agricultural communities, regions and social strata and to boost competitiveness in agricultural and fisheries areas.

OMB: Agencies must report on FOIA usage

[E-Government News] Karen Evans, administrator for e-government and information technology at OMB, wrote in an Aug. 25 memo that a new part of the report will focus on how agencies apply certain sections of FOIA and how they provide information to the public.

One year after Katrina, U.S. can learn from tsunami recovery

[E-Government News] The U.S. government’s struggles to coordinate relief efforts in the wake of last year’s Gulf Coast hurricanes have been well documented, but there is still no central capability to publicly report on all donations and aid activities in a way that allows for transparent views of the recovery progress. This impedes government accountability for any failures or shortfalls in managing the rebuilding process, and prevents participants that successfully complete projects from receiving due credit and praise.

Bahrain to adopt e-voting
