NY County Clerk's Office Launches First Subscriber Service in Nation

[FreedomSight] Government Technology reports that Suffolk County, New York is blazing an e-government trail with the launch of a subscriber based Virtual County Clerk's Office. The service will allows subscribers to "perform title searches for residential and commercial property, do background searches for employment and credit worthiness, or procure other land property documents..." and receive e-mail alerts on new information added to the clerk's online database.

Live 8 tickets on eBay for £1000 a pair

[Connected Internet - Broadband, Mobile and Gaming News Blog] Tickets for the London Live 8 concert are starting to appear on eBay. The going price for a pair of tickets seems to be around £1000 - not bad given that the SMS lottery cost £1.50 per entry.

New Australian E-Gov't Portal Launched

Deloitte & Touche/P&AB Weight In With Data Privacy Survey

[Call Center CRM News Blog] Sixty-seven percent of respondents have decided not to register at a website or shop online because they found the privacy policy too complicated or unclear. If the data is projected to reflect the U.S. population, then more than 140 million U.S. adults have decided not to purchase something from a company and some 109 million online adult consumers say they have decided not to register at a website or shop online.

Shopping.com Survey Reveals Online Shopping Habits

[Traders Trade -- For People Who Buy, Sell and Trade Online] Shoppers in the Midwest are the least likely to purchase luxury clothing online, with only four percent of shoppers surveyed in that region having purchased high-end clothing online during the first quarter of 2005. Shoppers in the South, Northeast and West purchased an equal amount of luxury clothing online, with 10 percent of respondents in each region having purchased luxury clothing online during the first quarter of 2005.
